[Rewarded Review] Perfect Blend of Power and Portability!
David· Review provided by bestbuy.com · January 3, 2025
I absolutely love my new iPad! It's the perfect balance between performance and portability. The display is crystal clear, and the colors are so vibrant—it makes watching videos and browsing the web a pleasure. The performance is smooth, whether I'm multitasking, drawing with the Apple Pencil, or using more demanding apps like video editing software. It handles everything with ease!

The battery life is amazing—I've used it all day for work, entertainment, and some light gaming, and it still had plenty of juice left by the end of the day. I also appreciate how thin and lightweight it is; I can easily carry it around without it feeling bulky.

I’m especially impressed with how well it integrates with other Apple devices, like my iPhone and MacBook. The seamless continuity across devices makes everything feel so connected.

If you're looking for a powerful yet portable tablet that can handle a variety of tasks, this iPad is definitely worth it. I can’t recommend it enough!

Performance:Blazing fast with the M1 Chip
Product Quality:Great build, feels premium

I was initially leaning towards getting the iPad Air 6th Gen but then I saw this on sale plus with vouchers so I went with this one instead. Also, the 6th Gen is relatively more expensive and I cannot justify splurging that much money for a tablet that'll be mainly used for note taking and annotating pdf textbooks. Also, there isn't really any significant difference aside from the new chipset and landscape camera orientation. With the Geekbench 6 scores of most tech reviewers, the scores of the M1 were not that far behind the M2s. Most people would do just fine with the M1 for 5 or more years considering how powerful it is.

I highly recommend this shop. Fast shipping and delivery. I am from Nueva Ecija and it only took 2 days. The item was secured with a lot of bubble wrap and placed in a box so the iPad arrived safely.
Powerful Hardware, a Pitiful Battery

The iPad Air 5 is a genuine powerhouse. The M1 chipset blows anything and everything out of the water.

It's just too bad that it fails immeasurably as a portable device.

iPads used to be known for their excellent battery life, able to go days without a charge for many users. Whether it's the M1, something about iPadOS or Apple being stingy with battery capacity, something has gone horribly wrong in the longevity department.

I struggled to get more than 5 hours out of this tablet while doing basic tasks like Internet browsing and watching videos off the local storage. My iPhone 12 Pro manages better, and its battery is absolutely cooked.

I've done plenty of troubleshooting and reinstalled iPadOS to try and fix things. But it's no good. The battery life just sucks.

If I wanted to be tethered to an outlet, I would have bought a small laptop.

If the M1 is the culprit, then it's a problem that I absolutely NEED and M-series SoC to access Stage Manager.

A $400 nugget from Lenovo has access to PC mode, which offers multitasking on par with Stage Manager. All running on a mid-tier MediaTek processor with 6 gigabytes of RAM. Whether Stage Manager truly needs that much horsepower, or Apple is just pushing people to buy their more expensive iPads, is beyond the scope of a review, but it's something to think about.

Otherwise this is a pretty standard experience. The speakers are good, if hard to avoid covering while holding the device in landscape.

It's light and comfortable.

The screen is.... Acceptable. Paying this much and not getting an OLED panel isn't ideal but I knew what I was getting going in. Although perhaps the lower power consumption of an OLED screen would have helped the battery life. At the very least the thinner panel would have made room for a larger battery.

If you really want/need iPadOS but don't require Stage Manager, save your pennies and get a standard iPad.

The iPad Air 5 is an outstanding tablet that delivers exceptional quality and performance. The build feels premium, and the sleek design is both stylish and functional. One of the standout features is the impressive battery life—it easily lasts throughout a full day of use, whether you’re browsing, working, or streaming content. The display is vibrant and crisp, making it perfect for everything from watching movies to drawing or editing photos. The performance is smooth, thanks to the powerful chip, and multitasking is a breeze. For the price, it’s a fantastic deal, offering top-tier functionality without breaking the bank. Overall, I love this product—it’s well worth the money and a perfect balance of performance, design, and value.
